The Opportunity:
The primary role of this position will be the daily operation of equipment related to fermentation process development in the Biopharmaceutical Process Sciences Department (BPS). The major responsibility of this position is to execute experiments and deliver material to development groups. Additional responsibilities include data analysis, troubleshooting process and equipment, participation in project teams, lab inventory and organization, maintaining detailed records of batches and experiments. The work is highly collaborative and requires good communication skills and a desire to be part of a team. Strong attention to laboratory safety and following standard operating procedures is required. Compliance with select agent policies and immunization program is required.
REQUIREMENTS:
The requirements:
• BS in Biological Sciences with 2 to 5 years of related work experience or Masters Degree in Biological Sciences with 0 to 2 years of related work experience is required.
• At least 2 years of hands on laboratory experience (for BS degree) in a Biotech or Pharmaceutical environment is required.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques, fermentation, sample analysis and computer skills are required.
• Experience with documentation, general laboratory procedures, interpreting the significance of experimental results, and operating process equipment is highly desirable.
• Skilled in the application of a subset of biological, chemical, microbial culture, fermentation techniques and filtration methods.
• Ability to recognize scientific problems, troubleshoot and resolve process and equipment issues.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills, be a strong team player, and have demonstrated ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.
• Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset and a proven ability to effectively plan, organize, and implement programs.
• Takes the initiative to properly identify and resolve customer concerns and seeks feedback.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
